Inverse the ratio of distance and strength
Alice and Dorothy spread their fingers wide to catch
The integers that fell in a silent cadence of absolutes
Those squared proportional to those cubed
Tossed in random swirl of winds

On New Years Toll the equation begins factorial
To equal the sum of fractions held

There is always distance between letters
And the space if multiplied by the lines is often more
Than that occupied by black, or yellow, or hearts queen
Who sits upon the grass to watch parade of hares
Or the number of bricks that lay upon a path

So should snow

Upon December’s end there is a knot to be tied
Some bow left undone before the equinox now begs
Should strength be left to mock the heart or to numb the tongue
As cold…
Once the story told of beauty an algorithm in metaphor
For the waste of dark nights when bare the hushed breathing
Was sold to window pane in ransom
For the hope that came

Subtract the product of such divisions from the whole
And abstract numbers become clear

Alice looked for a clock and watched the folded fingers of her hand
While Dorothy clicked her heel in soft rhythmic time

“No place like here”
She said

Oh so looking forward to the numerous
stories yet to unfold from that
exquisite mind of yours.

Welcome home, my friend.

It's been far too long!

when I saw your name
I felt just like it was my birthday
and a chocolate cake
with chocolate icing
was sitting before me

I apologize, I guess I didn't get it. I was never quite smart enough to keep up with you, though.

I just wanted to let you know I was here, and say welcome back.

Sunshine... thank you for the nice welcome...
It has been a long time it seems. It is, however, very nice to be back and I look forward to reading the words that come from your gifted pen as well as those from the other talented people here..

Martie,
I hope things are well with you.... I know that I am not always as considerate of coming and going as I should be, and it is nice to come back...and see my welcome has not completely worn itself away..

Helen,
I do not think....anyone has ever paid me such a high compliment. To make one think it was their birthday..and chocolate cake? Ma'am...you do flatter me.
Thank you sincerely for such a welcome.

Moved from a shack to a barn

Few, methinks, could weave these two tales together. *chuckling* Even fewer having a notion to acquaint the young ladies.

Ahhh, the hook, that elusive hook...

Happy to have marveled at this. And on a side note...I have moved from that lil riverbank shack...into a barn (with more creature comfort (notably heat and cable *laughing* and ZERO chance of flood))

All is well...hope the same for you, m'friend
