I'll shake their hands
and tip my hat

Sit with them
and chew the fat

They want to know
just where you're at,

but I will never tell

They want to learn
more about you,

but I wont tell

I wont tell

Let them ponder
a tree that fell

I wont tell

I wont tell

Let them search
into the night

while you wrap
yourself in light

They'll do you wrong,
then grant you Rights

I will never tell

Search,
search
and
Research

They find themselves
left in the lurch

Run around
Run around

Sniff the air
and watch the ground

Musk at dusk

A howling sound

Race to claim
the fame

Cast a track,
where it stood

Look for hair

Knock on wood

Cuss a bear

It's no good,

when you want
to make a name

They want to
see you,

but I wont
show them

They want
to know you,

but we both know them

We both know
they see the earth

to be in need
of subjugation

We both know
they weigh the world

down with their
defecation

Their tongue
is always in their ear

whispering,
"Monarch of all species"

and they cannot rest
'til all else is cleared

and they can lay
in their own feces

Rest assured,
in all our trades,
I will keep
the vow I made

Until one year
to the day
after Time
fades away

I will never tell

Ah, the very definition of loyalty! I liked this, Uriah.. and it brings to mind a silly saying I heard once long ago:  "Sure, I can keep a secret!  It`s the others I tell who can`t.. "      haha
Wonderful write

I generally believe in being open and honest but, yes, there are times when one knows to keep something secret.  I'm presently keeping a secret.  It's such a heavy weight but, hey, I can do it and am doing it just like you so that's good, yes?

What a write, dear Larry! Secrets to keep can weigh heavy indeed and how often someone dies carrying with himself or herself the mysteries of their lives, leaving those who wondered with all their doubts intact.

Most captivating!

Love,
Margherita
