Bones and his Gwendolyn
don’t care that much for flowers.

They don’t have
a place to grow them
anyhow.

They have their small yard,
back behind their rowhouse
tastefully done in concrete.

They have all the flowers they need,
when they look in the eyes of their children.

Bobby

Thanks dear Amaryllis,

Bones is a grown-up, retired, young male prostitute.

Bobby - Seems as if Bones has matured somewhat but there's still so much more to see in the eyes of his children.  Maybe he will see ... himself?

Indeed this is the most precious divine gift, dear Bobby.

Flowers are another miracle of creation, but I do understand your considerations ... when one compares ...

Love,

Children are like roses... a beautiful bloom with a wonderful scent. But there are times when they can really stick it to ya. I wouldn't trade mine in for the world... but there are times I would like to send them to different corners of it.

Thanks Andrew,

Of my four children, one lives in Japan, one in California, one in Florida, and one in New York City.

So we have the world fairly well covered.

This was sweet.  Children are proof that God has not given up upon the world.

Thanks Earl,

I'm pleased that you liked the poem.

Children are indeed a blessing.  We have a lot of them here in the hood.

Bobby Bones is so lucky to have children

because they are the greatest gift that God

has bestowed upon us, most times anyway.
