standing on a shadow's lace

Poetry

your words stir me
the places to fill the void
when winter leaves it’s
raw icy edges on windows
scratching at the glass
to feel the hope of warmth
the green of me in spring
to turn the handle tasting
unquenchable liquid language
calming childlike fears of darkness
of voices reading lyrics aloud
to travel places far and unknown
in a dialect I understand
resting safely in the strength of words
tightly holding and carrying me
tiny within its inspired voice
to dance unafraid on stars
and step on the ladder of clouds
resting in a shadows shade

"I'm so hard to handle
I'm selfish and I'm sad."
— Joni Mitchell

Amazingly I read all three of you and sometimes can only hear one heart beat.  How about a trio write, and make it a LONG one?  Would be a beautiful story to be told if all three of you wrote it!

Your words stir me too, not in Karen's way, but a nice way, LOL

p.s. I am having trouble packing for Orlando - like what on earth does 90 - feels like - 111 mean?  Today it is 61 here and I am cookin!  Please tell me that is something else besides 50 degrees higher than here, right?

I would adore to write with you two..     Although my art is more Wyeth where you two are Degas, Monet, Seraut.  I want to learn to write in your impassioned,  free style.. sometimes I feel my work is so.. dry, mechanical.

Oh my, I adore your poetry, especially love the
turn of the handle and all that it implies.

It is always such a treat to read you, slick one.
