If someone comes out and they say
"Hey world! I'm gay!"
Society sees them in a different way.

If someone comes out and they say
"Hey world! I'm straight!"
Society rolls their eyes and says "Gee, that's great."

What if things were the other way?
What if society were run by those who are gay?
Would injustice be standard play?

We can hope it would not
Hope we'd act as we ought
But battles would still be fought

For when inequality rules
It makes us all fools
And continues through social pools

So when you see that different person
Stop and think first on
What if to them YOU'RE that different person?

Sexuality is not the only problem
Religion brings about a conundrum
Race opens a can with one big worm

So teach your children to love
Teach your family to rise above
Teach your friends the peace of a dove

Because you never know how things will change
How society might rearrange
What new beast will break free of its cage

Goddess grant me the serenity to accept the things that I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.

That is no doubt the priority. Beautifully said.

In the difference there is much richness.

And I thought being gay wasn`t all that `different` anymore?!
.
We all experience inequality, don`t we.. it`s not fair.. I get it from others for my faith     ..you have yours,  as do handicapped people, race/sex/social class..
too bad it seems to be part of the human experience.  I agree with Margharita.. I like your plea to   teach others to love.. I try to do that with my own children.. it can only help, themselves and all others.
.
Also, I especially liked your `can with one big worm`..!  Very unique analogy- wonderful

Yo dear Rachael,

There's different people that don't hurt other people, and then there's different people that do hurt other people.

Love Bobby
