          MEADOWS OF THE MIND

I wander pathways seldom seen
A goldmine there to find,
I pause in pastures vivid green
In the meadows of the mind.

I know there must be more like me
Who see the grass as always green,
The moon shining bright on the darkest night
And dark clouds seldom seen.

There are some who say I fantasize
While others say I’m  blind,
But paradise is near, I see it clear
In the meadows of the mind.

There are some who always smile,
To themselves their sorrows keep,
As the adage says ,it’s as you sow,
Then that is how you’ll reap.

In reality things can be harsh
And people sometimes be unkind,
But if we try, we can all get by,
In the meadows of the mind.

Dear Lindsay, what an exquisite poem you have created! You are so right, in the "meadows of the mind" there is peace and serenity and we can recharge our energies to cope with the sometimes harsh reality.

Fantastic.

Love,
Margherita

Very encouraging and uplifting poem. I really like "meadows of the mind." Also your rhymes are great, and this comes from someone not crazy about rhyming poetry.

Yes I agree with you that no matter how harsh and unjust the world may be we can seek haven in the meadows of our minds.  Also it is true that one reaps what one sows when harbouring unhealthy thoughts.  We must keep our spirits up in trying times.
