On the north edge of the garden
where water pools and sun is long,
I planted a border of sunflowers
to keep the rest of the garden strong.

For when the beans and peas feel bad,
when onions wilt and broccoli's sad,
they can look up to the tall and proud
sunflowers towering above the crowd

and realize there is hope indeed
what beauty and strength from a little seed!

Mammoths and skyscrapers...
when the growing is done,
whichever is the biggest,
I will name her Midnitesun.

How beautiful, dear Dixie, and inspiring! "Midnitesun" will bloom magnificently and the connection with Kacy will manifest in the flower's golden light.

What a vibrant garden!

Love,
Margherita

Dixie...I love sunflowers and can see how they reflect the strong spirit of Kacy.  Thanks for writing this and sharing your garden pics.

A very nice write. Those plants are looking good, too.
