"Lotus and dragonflies" by Steve Memering

*

Open your arms

*

Open your arms
stretch them across the sky
take hold of my fragility
my heart wants to cry
though I don’t know why.

Permeate my tears
with your rainbow smile
coat them with blazes of zen
fly me to the river of serenity
where souls dance
among sparks of dragonflies.

Pierce the glassy surface
plunge me into the mystery
of the neatly reflected skies
show me the depth of Universe
along the sounds of sighs.

Open your arms
keep me safe within the space
of this imponderable fate
of a love without fear
that makes me cry
without knowing why ...

Drops of liquid soul leave our eyes when we're happy, and, sad, and other times, for feeling, somewhere in between.

Sometimes, those are the best kinds of tears. The ones, that just are.

This was beautiful Margy just like you.
And that, I do know why.

Margherita,

What an exquisite duo you have here.   The picture is amazing and goes along with your poem perfectly.

Love your inspired poem, and feel I've been riding among the colors of the sky with it.

   Much enjoyed,

The second stanza is the one that I liked best.  To permeate tears with a rainbow smile and coat it with blazes of zen is an intriguing thought.

You write with such beautiful simplicity and each of your poems seems to entreat us to love, ourselves and each other.

You are a beautiful woman, Margherita.

My dear friend...

The dragonflies permeated my back yard earlier this evening...hundreds of them, it seemed!

And then I read this, and realize how alike we are....

because as I watched them dance around and about, it caused my throat to close, and tears to rise, it was such a beautiful dance!

fine 'write' (and choice of visual image)

I love dragonflies ...

and since they have weathered roughly 300 million years of "Deep-Time" ...

perhaps we 'newcomers' could learn much from them!

Dear Margherita - Such a beautiful write!  I guess we cry because we know of that love without fear and yet sometimes feel so distanced from it.
