How do you kiss someone

on the other side,

of Wednesday?

How do you

hug them,

with an ocean

of clocks?

How do you

arouse someone

with stars,

carved out of honey?

How do you

make love

if all your

wishes

cannot swim?

Promise has no compass,

in a heart that

lost its shoes,

and fondness is a flame

of apples

in the bark

of sky.

The windows

cannot open,

if the west

is raining dreamers.

And touch

will sink in currents

if the mouth,

spits out the

cork.

The wind becomes

my breath on you

on days,

without a god.

My sunshine

licks your skin

and spanks you,

till you blush

and cry.

My lightning

makes you wet

with fingers,

from a

homeless heaven.

My darkness

shows you throbbing

you can see,

with both your

hands;

as songs

don't love you

if you're deaf,

unless you eat

their sounds.

Meet me in that

slice of time

of mouths,

before they kiss.

Bend my light

inside your prism,

blending us

with color.

Why

is all my death

in such a hurry,

just to live?

Why

do poets reach

for love

they know,

they'll never

have?

I see this poem in a prism of color that moves to each word you write and each question you ask.  I love this poem.  I am keeping it.

Every thought can stand alone and the above is my favorite.

Why do Poets ? Indeed !

I hope muses do not obey to the laws of physics!

This is great, dear Richy!

Ah.. an impressionistic painting with words, in your own indelible style-  never stop!  Only those of us who deeply love language can truly understand.  =)

Richy, you make me laugh!
I once wrote a poem in a similar style.. didn`t make `sense` (in a linear way).. but I was just having a ball playing with words/sounds/ideas-!  (it was entertaining watching my friends try to `get` it, heh).. but it wasn`t to be gotten.. just..   enjoyed.  That, my friend, is what I understand!
Be well!

Yann, thank you so much friend, I so appreciate that!

Amaryllis, my poetry is basically, vord vomit lol, these thoughts in my head just kind of spill out of my pen, I mean I understand what it means to me, whether or not anyone else gets it, is all a matter of their own life's experiences I suppose.

It's kind of like a sunrise to a blind man, he might not be able to see it, but, he can still feel it yes?

I'm glad, you, get it.

Hi, Richy.  I always enjoy trailing down your words but as for "Why do poets reach for love
they know, they'll never have" it's probably because they know (but don't know) that they already have it.  Make sense?  No, probably not.

Richy, your poetry just gets better and better!  I so like the contrast of imagery and feeling in this...as cockeyed as love seems to be.  We always seek the adventure to keep the intensity of love alive, and with adventure there is usually a mystery and a challenge.

But your imaginative touch here is unique and I like it a lot!  Karen

Helen, how nice to hear from you! Yes Honeybunch it makes total sense to me, I’m good at having things that I don’t even realize lol. Thanks so much for your kind comments.!

Karen! How are you? Basically, I’m just addicted to being in love, at least in my mind right? Whether or not I ever find, what I’m looking for, that’s a whole different story ha. But it does make for an endless muse doesn’t it? Thank you dear, I really appreciate your sentiments!
