alone in the desert

alone i stand,
in a desert so vast
my thoughts reconciled with spirits of past
a soul as lonely,
as a soul can be
wanting the one, my one to set me free
with time passing by,
my hope growing weary
the sadness i feel, sometimeseven teary
a burden i bare,
sometimes more than i can take
the sun in the desert, makes my soul bake
longing for love,
a love that runs deep
aching for the one i know i will keep
being drawn to keep walking,
i do not stall
wishing i could stop once and for all
my search never ending even when i rest
this is far greater,
than a simple test
beaten and abused i prepare to accept defeat
when she mumbles these words,
your are so sweet
my eyes look up and my breathing labored
could this be the one,
the one i favor
quenching my thirst, she showers my soul
perhaps she is the one,
who can make me whole
looking around,
so lush and so green
my vision adjusts to this new scene
for several days now
and a few days before
alone in a desert, i am no more
