Just Is

It has been awhile
and all I keep thinking about
is the past and the future
since the now
seems so short
and fleeting.

I am wasting away,
minutes, hours, days...
not knowing the why
of anything
and the meaning
behind it all.

Sometimes "just is" "is just that"...and yes,
you and I need to think about our time[s]
left
and be productive, anyway.

At least, as much as our bodies/mind/mentality
allows.

So, in that light...where's my doll?

There are indeed times in which we feel like this, it happens just as you say so well, but your awareness is the first step that will guide you to live fully again in the now.

Love,

The past is past and the future uncertain....what's important is now. That's why they call it a "present".

I think the inner-self, the soul if you will, is no less physical than the body in which it resides. You’re born whole and complete with the ability but not the knowledge of how to be a functioning whole; the body through usage and experience learns how to move, to crawl, walk and then run with a gracefulness belied by the discoordination of the new born that could only scream and cry and jerkily move.

The soul, on the other hand, while also a whole entity, is incomplete and is known only by the movements and cries of the body, and it learns from association, experience, remembrance, and just like the body, when healthy and taken care of, it develops and grows into a beautiful whole.

But while the body, born as a complete entity, can be trained and developed into a functioning, beautiful organism, the soul is much like a deflated balloon – it grows through the addition of outside stimuli – love, hate, pain, joy, and all the other things we experience and remember.

Having a marriage come apart, for instance; the loss of a loved one, a myriad other pieces we have entered into mine and heart, is much like the body losing a functioning part of itself – a limb, an eye, hearing – and the pain we feel is not just that of the loss, but the continuous searching for, and not finding, what’s gone.

Ghost limbs affect not only the body, but the soul as well, and it lingers always and continuous; and all we can do is long for it’s loss and learn to live with it’s emptiness because it never, ever, disappears.

With the body, the missing part is forever gone. With the soul we have the ability to develop something new, and similar, to that which was lost.  It doesn’t replace, but helps fill a void, and gives us new life where there was nothing – helps us commit what was lost to memory, to the past, and allows us to live in the present and again plan for the future.

To your present and future, my friend,

my heart...

j.

Hey Maur!  My illness catching up with me a bit recently lately, too.
Perhaps when we were young, the 'end' was nowhere in sight.  Now, on the rope of life tying us to each other, we can see the end of it.  It's a bit confusing, maybe frightening.  But it is
what it is.
"just is"
or "justice"
or both.
Love ya gal,
Jeff and M

Oh Maureen, I'm not sure what is going on, but I'll be praying for you to get better.

You look great as usual in your new picture!

Blessings to you.
