Dear Marti, what a poignant association of picture and words. You captured the sadness so well.

Beautiful and poignant.  I have never seen a Mourning Dove.

My oh my!  I have never seen a dove, so loved  the poem and the photo.  Hope your weather is better than ours.  I would give anything to go to another Red Socks game

Margherita, thanks so much! I love to listen to the soulful sound of the Mourning Dove. I have them all over my yard as they love to eat the seeds that fall from the bird feeders.

Last week was particularly dreary and they were singing away and this popped into my head!

Hello Alison, thanks for replying! Come visit as I have lots of them beneath my bird feeders eating the seed that other birds drop. They prance around but sing mostly in the morning.

Hey Sharon, weather is very hot, sunny and muggy! Too hot for me to go outside today so staying in and getting some housework done!
Would love to have you come visit and I'll get you Red Sox tickets so you can see a game any week day. We are a ways from Boston but perhaps you and Nan could go.

love ya, Marti
