Cool dark lake,
sun sparkle reflected.
Duck formations in
azure, white winged
bird clouds aloft.
Eyes closed,face
flushed warm by
sunstream, i listen.
Squabbling wildfowl, bursts
of splashing water.
Echoing pigeons, light
metallic jingles of
finches. Droning aircraft,
paper dry reeds.
Eyes open, feather
on water pirouetting
slowly. Early evening
easily spent, absorbed
gratefully, prelude to
nights dreaming act.

Friendship is Love without his wings. Lord Byron.
