Can’t seem to give it up
These things that twist my broken mind
Try to see what’s eating me
And don’t get left behind
The only thing to stop my upward climb
Is my steady and systematic mental decline
Won’t ever change my ways
Where the body leads, the head follows
Never will I be filled
Can’t let these feelings show
Don’t try to bring me up
From so far down below

Everywhere I look, they’re all I see
They are always there, mocking me
Maybe I’m just dreaming
That everyone I know is haunting me

You used to take my offered hand
And make me feel like the only one
Damn these changes and mental strangers
That always make me come undone
In my eyes, something that makes you run
From the desperate thing I’ve become
There’s nothing more I can do
I hear laughter everywhere I go
Bleeding me, feeding me
Until I lose all control
And the thing I cannot understand
Is the thing I will never know

Everywhere I look, they’re all I see
They are always there, mocking me
Maybe I am just dreaming
That everyone I know is haunting me

I’m so far gone now
I know the shadow is starting to win
Try to see things in me
That I just can’t let in
My world of light starts to dim
And my descent begins

ouch CG! Sounds like you need a hug too. wish I didn't relate to this poem...but I do. Too bad it is not one of those things you can just kiss and make it all better. ebm
