A Name Without a Face

Feelings of indifference
For you were never near
To share my joys
To ease my pain
You were a mystery
That I could not solve
So I gave up trying
Now they say
You're on your way
How should I act?
What should I feel?
Only curiousity lingers
You have never been
More than just a name
Life's sure is a strange game
So I guess it is meant to be
That you and I should meet
For though our past is a memory
That I was too young to remember
Your blood still calls for me
In the mist of my thoughts,
In the hopes of a forgotten child
You`re a name without a face
Crying passionately to come in
from the wilderness of the past
Into the sanctuary...
..of the now

Dedicated to my Biological father
...glad we connected before you passed on.ww

Very eloquent, Walt,
Each of us has our storybook life we want
but we live in our adopted life
instead.

The poem really got to me. I can truly relate to this since the last time I saw my real father at agg 12. I was scared at first but curious to see him, I haven't heard him since then, hope he's doing well. I'm glad you had the chance to see you dad before he left.

Ken, I am glad you connected with it...it makes me feel good knowing that others have felt what I have felt...and yeah it was great connecting with him before he passed on.ww
