A Love Like No Other

What is a Mother?
This is a question to ponder
On this day like no other
I sit and I wonder

A mother is a refuge
When the storms hit
And problems feel huge
Her lighthouse is always lit

A mother puts herself last
For she watches them all
She always eats last
So they can stand tall

A mother cries often
Her heart easily seen
As her eyes seem to soften
When she looks at her teen

A mother never gives up
She loves to the end
So let’s raise our cup
To her love without end

Wish I'd have found this earlier. I would have asked you if I could read it to my mom! Great to read.

Simple easy words strung together powerfully to give the essence of a universal concept. Kudos!!

Mother`s day may be over but this poem is a reminder that we should be considerate of our mothers on every day.  A good piece of work.

Walt, in all your kindness,
you are able to see into the loving motivations of the single most important
woman in each of our lives.
