Lopsided idiot grins,
so it begins
and so it begins;

love,
with sparkling electric sugar blossoms
on flickering dreams tricked out in crystalline delight,
no one sleeping through the nights
warmly wrapped in gleems of woven soul desires,
thrills of exploration;

overheated wedding rings
quenched in sarcasm's liquid eye
hammered into flying dagger harmonies.

Turn the cheek to dance only in memories,
lilting tilting tunes of a piano that's been drinking,
cross the medicine and hope to die,
chewing on what should be thrown away
with bone chips and gristle of a butchered love,

dying remnants
of sticky cotton candy wrappers and color crusted snow cone cups
dropped in muddy wallows
just inside the entrance at an abandoned carnival of lust.

Rivened love gone off the rails,
keeping dogs for lonely nights
when sanity prevails,
every sin a signpost on the seven bridges road,
just debris from two of us.

One of the best "love" poems I have read, Charley.

"overheated wedding rings"

sounds like a mechanical problem.

A couple of gems and I have been thinkin' boutcha!

If you're feeling chatty enough to write, you can find me at the old addy. (Abraxist grew to be exhausting.)

You leave me totally in awe, it is hard not feel you and your poetry.

An emotional write to be sure, and so very well done.

When you write like this, we all are better for it. It is a level of writing to aspire to and besides that
it's a darn good poem!!!!

Dear Charly, what an extraordinary write! A poem like firework that you can't forget, even if it lasted only seconds. Every word a hit.

Love,
Margherita
