Once Gerkins

Have not, the fret of a note held blue
Dirty fingers, sifted through
A day of gardens and cliff hanger gems

It is the seeds that plant there
Saturday in comfortable clothes
Linen rain perks the last kiss of yesterday

I could read between the lines to hollows of hail
Or flood the new furrows with tears
But rather do I pick food for thought

The smaller beginnings are once gerkins
Then, with wiley vines, cucumber shines a vivid green
And the purpose of the wine is deep

The smaller beginnings are once gerkins
Growing into freedom, more important than perfection
The snap of a good pickle should find applause

I read this clever poem while listening to some nice Jazz music this morning. Between sips of coffee I enjoyed this very much. A great way to start this day off.

Excellent

And a mighty fine garden you have here.

Now you've given me a craving for a gerkin...and I don't have one. But....I can almost hear the crunch.

ThisDiamond - I heard the snap. Okay! Okay! I'm clapping. I enjoyed the visual originality of your words here too. Nice work indeed. Namyh

She is quite adept and so very much more
when it comes to poetry and a smooth as
silk line or two....
