.

Under black willows
By the dark river

When the moon has gone
And left behind only a dream
Of light

When the birds that sang
From dawn to dusk various
Oblivious tunes for things
Then forgotten have flown away

By the sea
Where no waves wash the shore
Among the mute houses
Whose gardens grew no flowers

Lost in the ever narrower corridors
The air touched with absence
The memory of never was

In the long night silences
You break my heart

"The air touched with absence
The memory of never was"

...great lines, and as Ida said, very melancholic...well written

Beautifully done.  The loudness of a heart breaking in all that silence was heard.

Hearts are like waves, you know. They break, and.....break again.

"...of never was," comes "will it ever be,"
the dream of dream that lone hearts see ~
Would moonlight wake on dream come true
kiss sweeter sleep, heart bloom anew...

What a poignant poem and lacing shadows that weep.
