Is there knowledge
That lets us know
God is beyond doubt?
I believe not.
For God requires
No proof
Only faith
And perhaps not even…
For we have choice
And God accepts both
Doubt, as well as, faith
God is beyond the duplicity
of uncertainty

God is beyond this mountain

"We'll chase them like rats across the tundra."

Yo Andrew,

Free will is what makes us in His image.  It's the biggie.

I think with any 'faith' there has to be some doubt, otherwise faith is abject blindness. You approach and intersection in your car, the light for your direction of travel is green...faith is plowing right on through the intersection with your eyes glued straight ahead (abject blindness); faith is going through the light while watching for stupidity (faith with a little questioning/doubt).

Perpetual arguement...of course you knew that.

Small world...my son Justin lives in Moreno Valley...operator of the Chick-fil-A on Canyon Springs Parkway (I think actually is in Riverside).

Cool piece.

Martie: I’ll join that club.

Bobby: I absolutely agree. And I think God is a big enough entity to accept a multitude of images.

Marchmadness: Thank you. Your words are the coin of the realm, which I accept gladly.

Jwesley: I’m right there with ya. Blind anything is just being blind.
Mo.Val… Well that be just on the other side of the hill here from Redlands. As a matter of fact, both my wife and I went to high school there back in the days of dinosaurs. It was a much smaller place at the time, mostly centered around an active March Air Force Base. Now-a-days, I think of it more as a giant cesspool. Far too much growth in too little time. Poor city planning.  But I guess that’s a matter of perspective and a desire for what was.  Peace to you and yours.

There is a lot of God but nothing else.  This poem is bland it needs to have sex to spice up.

Ttapping: You make me laugh! Seriously. I'm all for sex, but it is a sad state of affairs when everything has to have sex and spice to be considered worthy of attention. Someday I hope you manage to grow up and see beyond your own animalistic urges. Good luck to ya!

Doubt and faith are both difficult things to overcome and achieve. I see them as opposite sides of the same mountain. Some may say that doubt is an easy state to achieve, but I don’t see it that way. In my younger days I used to doubt the existence of God (read that as any Supreme Being you care to name). But with time and experience I’ve come to see too much perfection in the universe, large and small, to not believe in some greater force. To maintain doubt in the face of so much “circumstantial” truth is a very hard thing. So I believe, and have faith that there is some greater almighty with a purpose. But I also doubt that IT is anything close to what we humans have conceived or written about in the most holy of holies. So, I have doubt and faith… and believe that God lies beyond this mountain.

Nicole: Thanks kid… Hang in there.
JM: Thanks for the read and write. Peace to you and yours.
Lindsay: Thinking is always fine dish.  Glad I could serve you up a plate.
TOE! YO BUDDY! Thanks for stopping by. I understand you were a bit under the weather. Hope you’re feeling better. You know me, I’m always provoking.

I also believe that God lies beyond the mountain.  It's a long and arduous journey for us mere mortals but if we want to get there, we will.  The secret is in the "wanting".  Enjoyed your poem.

Hunnybunch: Amen to that sister... just as long as what I want isn't forced upon me. If you know what I mean. Thanks for the read and write. Peace.

I believe that faith is a gift.  The ability to make the leap into the dark is not an easy one.
