Smooth as silk I spun my bed
Taught from the legs whom spun a web
Hungry eyes and thirsty teeth

"Wouldn't you cry?"

Blank stares and empty voices

"Wouldn't you cry? If you saw me die."

Patience was his virtue

"Oh, not me, no, not I."

One-sided conversation

"What if I told you I could fly?"

Disbelief in silence

"Yes,I can fly. Only if I don't die."

A twitch in position

"Now wouldn't it be a shame if I died?"

Intrigued

"Keep watch while I sleep, and you can fly too."

I lied.
