Copied copies of copies
litter my desk,
have infiltrated my backpack,
are highlighted to death.
Branded with JStor
they're the product of a Muse.

Their pages untold,
jargon laden,
interject the unknowable.
Things,
better left unsaid.

Forcefully
bending my ear,
detracting my gaze,
in theory amenable,
but in practice a chore.

By copying
the copied copies of copies
the concept itself
is diluted
at best.

Yo The Shadow in Blue,

Except for original creations, everything in the world is a copy.

too true. Which is why I feel like I shouldn't  have to read scholarly, philosophically based articles.

Monkeys on typewriters?  Nope.  Monkeys on word processors with internet access?  Yep.

I hear you loud and clear, Lady.

I particularly like that last bit. Me... I'm just Memorex. Thanks for sharing.

Very true and powerfully expressed, you used the metaphor of copies well here, I especially loved the ending.

...well, I liked it all, but especially enjoyed this:

"Their pages untold,
jargon laden,
interject the unknowable.
Things,
better left unsaid"
