Listening to every heart

I wonder of them…

those love songs, as they were,
what are they now, what is
said, read, felt…are they serene?

Perhaps they are writ upon
some dream, someone’s spirits
fantasies that might only skim
one’s skies        unless one
fantasizes…
with frequent need of

hither    unto    me.

My cursive deems it clear
that should a stranger read it
one might sense
a long song
lingered here,
within this skin…
should it be deemed

that a stranger read it.

And cursive is a stranger word
when cursing seems
too close to it,
as if divided between

wonderment and transgression

even as eventide strides this soul…

what do they say
in love songs today?

I never seem to hear one

compleat.

This flows like silk.....I've read this three times already because I love it so much, I wish I had written this gem....I especially loved the powerful ending!

Sissie....A love song, a poet knows, is seldom complete.

WTG, Karilea!  I agree completely with every line and thought in this beautiful opine of where we were vs where they are.

a very cool write...especially loved this part:

"And cursive is a stranger word
when cursing seems
too close to it,
as if divided between

wonderment and transgression

even as eventide strides this soul…"

...almost a theme unto itself, this part is my favorite because of the word usage...

Maybe you haven't heard all the love songs out there?

There are some really great ones, just that we all need to take time to listen. That's the problem I think.
