Shuks

I was going to write something called the disease of life,
but someone has already written a book with that title.
So in order to avoid copyright infringement problems,
I have decided to title this Oh Shucks.
I thought of calling this untitled,
But we read a story called untitled in high school, and, in fact,
There is even a poem on Pip titled untitled,
Although I’m sure if I read it or who wrote it.
So clearly the title untitled can not be used,
or I would have to contact the author of untitled
and ask him (or her) if it’s okay to use that title.
Maybe the moderators can help me find the author.
But surely nobody has written anything called oh shucks!
Okay … so anyway … I was going to write
About the disease of life, but don’t move this up to the title line because,
Even though I am writing this, I didn’t really write this.
And you’re not really reading what you think you are.
Okay … so anyway …
How to tell if you have life.
Life causes pain, so if you feel pain,
That is a symptom you have been infected with life.
Life causes one to have crazy thoughts and desires.
So if you get crazy thoughts and desires,
That is also a symptom that you have life.
Public health nurses should tell the public
About this terrible threat to … mmm … public health!
Why, is this not true, Earth angel?
Life afflicts people all over the world.
In fact there have been some six billion cases so far.
They have discovered that life runs, or maybe walks, in families.
And that life is often contracted from parents.
One way to cure life might be to kill all parents,
But this is considered unacceptable, at least by parents.
Even trees and plants and lawns are often infected with life,
as evidenced by their peculiar greenish color.
Researchers all over the world
Are working on a cure for life,
perhaps a vaccine.
They have discovered that dead people do not contract life,
even if they are directly exposed to the active pathogen that causes it.
Under a powerful microscope,
this nasty organism looks like a twenty-three-sided square,
and has been given the scientific name of Vidas Inagadas
by a famous group of pathologist who, in 1968,
formed a group called The Iron Butterfly.
They are trying to find out why,
Amid much organ and heavy drumming work.

This poem was composed by its composer and is authorized by the author,
So you might have just a bit more stuff to read.

Hey, nobody's human!
