ACCEPTANCE

I wave
to the sun
that sleepwalks
across the sky

I wink
at a god
who hides
a limp
beneath
a long robe

the moon
and my finger
make a lollipop -
I lick
the dark side

the lips
of my wounds
sing
the names
of those
who curse me

I eat
with a five-tined fork
made from the arm
of an infant
skeleton

I blow
a kiss
to the ancient face
that stumbles
into the mirror

Anthony, it's good to see you posting here more often now!
As always you have the best imagery and powerhouse phrasing, the ending is very powerful; this certainly is a poignant piece about the numb of acceptance....I'm baffled that this poem hasn't garnered any replies yet.

...I love the visual memory this line leaves on my mind...the rest...well, I suppose I would call it ponderous...it is a multiple-read deep well (and I love deep wells...seems the water drawn from them is always so refreshing)
