My mommy Muys and my two daughters Iske May and Lynn Karijn taken last Sunday.
She had a bit of a cold then, but otherwise she's quite well, still driving her invalide scooter and shopping for her own groceries.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Got a phone call, late afternoon,
my mom had fallen down,
again.
She does that too often lately
and that's not good.
Doctor said she wanted her
in the hospital,
for a checkup, my mom is
ninetyeight years old you know.
almost a century.
So they phoned me when
the ambulance took off and
I hopped in my car and drove
to the gaz station and
waited for the ambulance,
because they had to pass by
on their way to the hospital.
They did all the things they
had to do, taking blood,
getting X-rays and such stuff.
Then they put her to bed,
with the promise that two
more specialists would check
her tomorrow.
The doc told me that her
dizzyness could come from
the paracetamol with codeïne
she was getting three times a day,
for the pain in her hands.
Codeïne is not so good at her age,
he said. I tend to believe him.
So let's hope it's only that.
"Ill weeds grow apace" my mom said,
when I kissed her goodbye for the night,
"I'm still here, but I won't live forever you know".
I think I'll stick to her first line.
Kiss her cheeks, twice each, for me.
She's beautiful,
she's gorgeous...
she is as she has to be.
She's trying, but crying
to be left to her own device...
she gives as she gets...
and won't give answers twice.
Hug her for me, for you, for your kin
then hug her once more, from her PIP friends.
Titia, I am so sorry but glad to see her smiling. Hopefully, she'll be up and riding her scooter again real soon.
Please give her a kiss from me for good health and no more falls.
I am looking forward to hear she is tearing around on her scooter again     We get younger you know, not older.  I am heading to a "Black Eyed Peas" concert tonight and I am so excited, like when I was a teenager.
You hurry and get out of that bed Muys, we have a second childhood to finish yet.
Oh, and Titia, your daughters are simply lovely, like their mama.
Beautiful words and picture, Titia.  Before I read your words I wondered which of the girls was you.  After reading your words I now know.  All three of them.
Beautiful poem, Karilea.
Thank you all so much for the lovely words of support. Mommy Muys is doing alright now, they're going to check a few things more and then I think she's going home again. I'll keep you posted.
Thank you for sharing your poem with us.  Living to 100 is an accomplishment that very few of us will achieve.  I wish your family the best.
Mommy Muys is back home Hurray!
Don't know exactly what they've done, but she feels good and is glad to sleep in her own bed again. She says Thank You to all her PiP friends.
Hello Titia, this is very touching, both the poem and the family picture....98 is uncredible and beautiful but not easy every day, I remember my grandmother as well, thanks for the very enjoyable read.
Prayers being sent across the pond... and as musicians don't usually talk to Him, I am hoping he takes the time to actually hear what we have to say this time.
Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting, "WHAT A RIDE
