Things around me fall apart
but only every now and then-
I always manage to pick up the pieces
and put them back together again.

Life is quite adventurous
on this, my Great Escape-
I push up my sleeves, put up my hair
so he can breathe upon my nape.

He bought for me a small lamp
to see by in the mid of night
just in case things fall apart
and I can't wait till daylight...

of course, it goes without saying
that one of these days I just might
let my hair down, spread my wings,
and suddenly take my flight.

Still, all in all, when said and done,
I'm much better at remodeling-
and I could make millions if what I am
would be suited for bottling.

Anyhow, once, I tried to fly
but simply crashed and broke my wings
and I don't care to fix them yet-
I use my glue on other things.

this is the storage barn that my husband and I are building in the front yard

I wish I had a barn. I am jealous.

I liked this poem. The ending is very clever.

Well done.

Storage barn, Dixie?  Why do I look at the pic and see "Doghouse"?  hmmm?

Another neat poem.  Thanks for writing it.

Enjoyable. Flow and feel were well crafted, and I liked the message. Peace.

thanks guys

ya'll are treasures

we are actually building this for mom and pops since they are quite the hoarders and can't seem to get rid of anything. They have 2 houses and a tractor shed full of stuff that needs a new home. So we are just making one.

Yo Passing shadows,

You've got yourselves a nice big storage barn there.
