Sour
taste of woman in heat,
taste of whisky served neat,

sweet
taste of love briefly earned,
taste of life later learned,

bitter
taste of desire's hot ash,
taste of karma's bright lash,

all become thickly
lingering taste of reality's bite.

I like the unique style of this poem and the fact that it has so much to say to those who know how to listen.

Most meaningful write, icebox.  "Reality's bite" - yes, it leaves a lasting scar.

Enjoyed the read and the feel of this one.

Great write, Sir. The name of a certain young golfer comes to mind, as I apply this to the practical applications of "real" life. And not that I can't see a lesson or two for myself.

It makes a lot of sense  (insert pun-inspired groaning here)
