I can close my windows to those cameo figurines
my namish rebirthing of my sixty seven
when my gospel was celibacy celebrations

with sixties and fifties and other metal music
planting the thai died gophers deep enough
but never far enough apart for salvation

just to stay ahead of that sweet smell wetness
when morning was another sticky page of memory
there were highways down the road from returning

and women then that never cried for their lovers
or the plastic doctors that made their bodies
into dreams that didn't fit a warrior's hands

so my suns still sip whiskey on mexican afternoons

You write intriguing puzzle pieces that I love to fit together - and your use of words brings me back again and again.

Hi DS...my eyes tricked me into thinking you were talking about a 67 Camero.  Glad to see your scribble notes. Hope all is well in the south of Cali

Had too many friends who didn't come home...
and the music always reminds me so.

Well committed, were your suns.

Most impressive, dear D.! Every single line brings deep emotions.
