Splendor in Silhouette

Headed south to Arches National Park,
Dessert brown turned to fire as we drove,
Down the hill and around a bend,
The entrance hidden in a little cove,

Then up the side of a massive cliff,
Cut into brilliant red sandstone,
Away from the hustle of the cities,
These monuments that stand all alone,

This land of ancient marvels,
Monoliths and arches so grand,
Over 1000 of every size and shape,
We hiked them, hand in hand,

As we climbed up the red slick rock,
On narrow trails and over hills,
We arrived at our destination
Its grandeur gave us chills,

Delicate Arch is Magnificent,
Beautiful in shape and size
Natures spectacle in carved red stone,
Forever, reaching for the skies,

Our favorite vacation destination is Arches,
Incomparable, splendor, in silhouette,
Everyone should see the wonders of this place,
It’s an adventure you will never forget.

{ Arches National Park is located in the
South east part of Utah, near Moab}

The answer is always NO, Until the question is asked.

Hi Tracey you have written a great poem my friend, painted into a vivid word picture.

Very descriptive writing and most enjoyable to read. Take care.
