Sands through the hour glass-
Leaves on the wind…
Last summer’s flowers-
Cliches never end.
Words which we’ve coined…
And phrases we’ve used…
Fail to do justice-
To things which we lose.
Hearts that are broken-
The phrase sounds so trite,
Describing the agonies…
Felt in the night.
Forlorn, and lonely?
I view these with scorn-
When used to describe…
All the misery I’ve born.
Words are an avenue…
Conveying feeling…
The depth of emotion-
From view they are sealing.
Words, like a photograph-
In black and white.
Hide from our senses…
The pathos and fright.
Bear our hurt bravely.
“Acquit ye like men”-
No shortage of clamor-
Cliches never end.

I'm shocked that your poem hasn't received any replies....it's well written, of course, using cliches but so cleverly...I especially loved the last few lines..

I am always shocked by the lack of responses to your poetry.  Cliches are trite because they are truths over-used.  Yes?  The fact is sometimes the cliches say it best.  Or they are a salve for our inability to express ourselves in a more creative manner.  I think that of myself sometimes - especially here when I am responding to people's poetry.  My words sound trite at times when, in reality, I may be deeply moved.

Oh well.  You keep writing and sharing and I'll keep responding with cliches.
