Someone once told Bones
that he had a right to a childhood.

Bones could never figure out
what that meant.

What is this chilhood stuff
about anyway?

He always wondered
just what he had missed.

He didn’t let it pry on his mind.

Bones wouldn’t wish
his life on anyone,

and for sure
he wouldn’t wish it
on himself.

Bobby

The Bones poems are hit and miss.  I would say that you have a winner with this one.

Hey Bobby -- this is great. I really like the subtle way you use the irony of bones not knowing, but then knowing so well the meaning of his childhood that he wouldn't wish it on anyone. One of your best, my friend!

Thanks dear Passing shadows,

What you say is very true.  Bones doesn't let the past bother him.

"He didn’t/doesn't let it pry on his mind."

Bobby tell Bones that when it's gone it's gone and you can never get it back so don't

worry about it. Look forward with enthusiasm.

and the ending packs a soft punch.

Thanks Lindsay,

Bones doesn't spend much time dwelling on the past.  He's way too busy just staying alive in the present.

You have it right.

Bones's age was once small numbers... that's as close as he got to "childhood"... and he's right to not wish his experiences on anyone. *S* Wonderful write, Bobby!
