Dear Marg.
You have so many replies
that you probably won’t even remember Little Me,

one of your anonymous admirers. But …

Well at first I instinctively chose not to read this poem
because I knew what it would do to me,
giving me a rosy glow of rising anticipation,
and it would force me to imagine what this poem might be like.

But finally I could wait no longer.

Marg … In all my life
I don’t think I have ever read anything
so sensual, so personal, so plaintive, so passionate.
  But surely you have heard all this before …
How comforting is such an elemental fantasy
when I lie in bed alone, because it tells me
that, maybe, I’m really not alone at all …
that even as I fantasize someone fantasizes too,
whom I have never met or even heard of yet,
because it shows me that’s
the way we humans were meant to be;
together, bearing and whispering to each other
our secret hopes, desires and dreams;
Not isolated, apart and alone,
But part of each other, in bed of Night,
where flimsy fabrics can dissolve
in the tidal surge of our desire
a desire that can no longer be denied.
Together, carefree pleasure and in love.
Maybe I’m not really as alone
As I may sometimes think or fret I am,
Even though I’m not getting any younger,
Even though the years are slowly passing.  But perhaps
My selfish dreams of Night may soon come real?

Dear Jaime, it's so nice that you felt inspired to write these poetic ponderings after reading my poem. I am happy that I have found this now, after a busy day.

Yes, we are meant to love and to express our desires, we are meant to dream and to enjoy the manifestation of our dreams. You say it beautifully and don't you ever think that age separates us from our heart's desire. We are able to love, to give and to receive until our last breath.

Thank you for this intense write. I hope many others will read it, because you expressed your feelings in a very captivating way.

No, you are not alone, we are all One.

Love and joy!

Margherita
