Driving along with the radio singing harmonies,
As I take in the majesty of the sky---
A concerto of sunshine, and gray clouds
Weeping tears of joy! The droplets are liquid diamonds
Upon the windshield pane! My heart is light,
A Leaping gazelle in the blooming meadows,
That drink freely of the gift of rain!

O thou most auspicious day; it is good to be alive,
And to remember those who have passed this way. Selah.

I composed this in my head as I drive home after a wonderful lunch with friends. Selah, an ancient Hebrew word of which the definition is uncertain, but its placement in scriptures I’ve read, makes me think of it as another affirmation of truth, as in amen.

I feel permeated by the serenity and the harmony that emanates from your beautiful words, dear Art.

I know this kind of feeling when driving and detaching from worries, welcoming the awareness of the beauty of existence. You expressed it so well.

Love,
Margherita

Oh, thank you Margherita, dear friend! To cast off the burdens and cares for one magical moment, is a gift we should not allow to slip away. Your words are so apt for the blessed occasion.

Yo Art,

This is good use of the word.  How can a great day be measured?

Hello Bobby, thanks for reading and commenting. I suppose a measure of a good day might be that at the close of the day, one is lifted up for having made it, rather than having ended feeling unfulfilled and despairing. We have some good days and some bad days, of course, and I remember the familiar saying---"Any day above ground is a good day!"

I wish you a good day, my friend.

Indeed, Ida. We have our good and bad days, but we seek to weigh the scales in favor of the good!

Wishing you a good day, on this day! --

Thanks for the read and comment, Billie! I usually have to edit my poems and my comments several times before I get it right, so I fully understand!

Wishing you the best --
