Living with myself is getting unbearable
Words of wisdom I had ignored
While youth flowed through me
Like a raging river detoured

So much simpler then;
The days were all brand new
So many chances, so many turns
From what I thought I’d pursue

Scary how fast it all went
This is no way to live
Can’t stand myself anymore
For I have nothing to give

Jerry,

What to say to this?.... what we pursue and the detours of  youth are preparations for what we are really here for, even when we don't have a clue what that is.  There are many paths to one destination, and that is being.  It asks a lot of us, but love isn't love until you give it away...and you do have that, an able mind, breath, and crossroads to consider.  Who says we only can take one path to becoming?  And what good is listening to a thought that would expire our worth?  Why should that be valid?

...handing you a bouquet of 4 o'clocks.  They bloom at twilight and at midnight, in the shade, and they are tenacious, colorful, and simply beautiful!  How many times I've spotted them along side my house and smiled at their unassuming glory.  It's not always about roses.

LOL...low maintenance is a plus!  I'd say your mind is fertile ground, CG.  Any stones therein are more than likely diamonds in the rough.  I'm glad you shared, because you made me think how often my hind sight has convinced me I'm playing pin the tail on the donkey, which turns out to be a picture of me.  What a pain in the....ahem!
