I would modify Thoreau's dictum slightly:

"In wildness (and poetry lie) the salvation of the world"...

it is tragic that 'the world' and its 'powers that be'
shall most likely never truly 'listen' ...

   terminus ad quem

As heart and dreams
have all broken and
love is forever lost,
to an eternal night of
ten thousand sorrows
with hopelessness
life's last companion,
(in this phantom world
of ever-elusive truths
and all that 'should
   have been')
may my final passing
thoughts be only ...
of poetry, wilderness,
and a shining memory-
mirror image of her face.

write on, my friends!
a·dieux

You are meant to share your innermost feelings and beliefs, dear Bruce, and your poetry is beyond precious, really.

A true poetic heart never quits. You have a mission and you are aware of this.

I am very grateful for your presence here.

Love,
Margherita

Bruce,

You are unique on the pages of PiP. You show us a world with words that few of us would contemplate using to create the beauty that you create.  You show us - yes, you show us.

How much less PiP would be if you were not here.  I am glad that you are.

Your friend,
Alison

Sir:  I don't suppose that you are awair that I submitted a poem to PIP about a year ago by this same name  "TERMINUS ad QUEM" it is about my sister that was in a coma and then passed away. If you are interisted in reading it you should be abble to find it in the archives.
