I see that Balladeer has written a "poem" about poor old Toe,
Full of disparaging remarks, I could have told you so.
But if you read his poem again I'm sure that you will see,
Balladeer butchered more than Toe, he butchered poetry.

Alas I feel as if I'm alone in our three amigos set,
I've waited to read a well written poem that I've not found as yet.
I'm sure Balladeer is holding back to spare his buddy Toe,
From Toe's embarrassing efforts to let the poetry flow.

This latest "poem" penned by 'Deer intended as a eulogy
Burned poor Toe as never before (a fitting effigy).
I would never be this cruel to either of my friends,
Woe is me that I must now step forward in poor Toerag's defense.

When Toe graduated from 3rd grade with 12 years of schooling done,
He'd learned as much as they could teach Alabama's favorite son.
So it's not his fault he struggles when given the chance to write,
He's doing the best he can as he struggles by candle light.

Now 'Deer is a different story, as I'm sure all of you know,
It's a shame he wastes his talent hanging out at the 19th Hole.
He could spend his time more fruitfully with his engaging style,
If he'd but take my sound advice, and work once in awhile.

BTW - great poem, 'Deer - you carved up that Toerag scalawag in handsome style.

I have read your poetry in the archives - thank you for the laughter and smiles that you never failed to deliver.  Now, I am delighted that you are back and starting my days with - laughter and smiles.  You were missed by some who never had the opportunity to "talk" to you on these boards and I am sure by those who knew you here years ago and ... of course, by Balladeer and Toerag.

Thank you for making my morning a happy one - making me laugh out loud at 6:00 am is difficult at best.

Alison

Now that the restraining order has expired and 'Deer and Toe have failed to renew it, I am free once again to write my beautiful (and TRUE) tales of those two rascally scalawags.

Thank you for your wonderful compliments.
