This all means nothing And nothing is real I can’t help myself This is how I feel Most of the time I’m like some kind of ghost And sometimes I take pleasure In things that hurt me most And sometimes I feel I’m drowning Choking on bitter tears Or clawing at the one thing Ringing in my ears I’ll take anything I can Time never seems to heal The pain, this wounding pain This is how I feel They still keep taunting me Numb my hurting head I’m lost and all alone And given up for dead Sometimes I can protect myself Until the embracing dawn Or lose control From the one thing hanging on You can paint me in a corner Lock me up, throw away the key You still just don’t get it This is how I feel |

I know such feelings too, but at the same time I never forget that life treats me well when I trust. And I always know that I am not alone and that everything can be seen in a different way. Your expressions are very powerful. Love, Margherita |

I hope you feel better soon. This makes my head hurt, too... You know, when we carry around such negative thoughts, it's like having a thief in the house--one that lies, cheats, steals peace of mind and happiness. I do understand that sort of robbery, having done battle, too, and feeling victimized by depression at times. I know what it takes to throw the interloper out. The thing is we WOULD bar the door against a thief and we would defend ourselves. It also takes mental and physical work to send darkness packing and to hold onto the good, but it's worth it and I know you are, too! KL |

Oh, those innermost questions with nary an answer. But you also made me think of myself, and how the ringing in my ears is only something I can hear... and no one else might know the pain of it. So, food for thought on several levels. Well done, m'friend. |

For me, reading poetry is sometimes like getting too close to a porcupine. It pierces my heart with jagged quills if I'm not careful--sometimes in a good way, sometimes quite painfully. You compose it in such a way that I feel all the arrows, the tears and the smiles...a mark of a very adept author. Keep that happy heart, ok? ~K [This message has been edited by Klassy Lassy (03-05-2010 03:55 PM).] |

Getting too close to a porcupine...I like that. Very apt. They look so cute, but can also be so painful to touch. You are awesome KL. |
