contrast

smooth nylon snags
on dirty denim.
my embrace holds
unvoiced pleas.
steel toes brush
the tips of shiny heals.

dry, hard working lips
faithfully kiss lipstick
one last time.

my pickup coughs
breakup smoke
as your hybrid pulls away.
