For (Irish) John McGeough

I am a composite
Of a thousand disasters;
But I have triumphed—

I am a prince in a troubled
House, still, but I rule
With a sturdy heart,
And a steady hand,
And a sound mind.
I am one of a kind
Among survivors.

What am I?
I am a process
Of recovery, continually,
Living one day at a time . . .

John worked for me in Airport ground transportation, perimeter security, and special terminal services. He was a devoted, and trusted employee. He was sober for many years, and he was sober when he passed away and, I truly believe, very brave.

I don't rule in my house, but sometimes I have a say in things. Usually I don't get a whole day to live at a time. I take it minute by minute. Sometimes it's second by second.
