Melancholia
Posted by
Gunslinger
Torn; oh, how my mind is torn-
And worn, I’m weary and so worn.
The years that lie behind me,
Leave memories that bind me,
Sometimes it leaves me wishing-
That I never had been born.

Alone, In my heart I’m all alone-
Gone. All the things I loved are gone.
A trail of bitter memories-
Dead dreams, and lot’s of ought-to-be’s,
Echo in these lonely nights…
A melancholy song.

Tears. I must have shed a million tears.
And fears, all those doubts, and dreads, and fears.
A lot of sad near misses-
Dreamed of, and longed for…kisses-
Ashes of long lost romance-
Make the days crawl by like years.

Dear John, melancholia creeps into our hearts every now and then, you render it powerfully.

In reaching out and sharing there lies the possibility of alleviating our sadness and that is what you have done with your beautifully written poem.

You should also decide to interact a little more here on Pip, that would give you a different feeling of closeness with other Pip members. You post beautiful poetry and I am sure you would get more attention if you considered other people's works too and sent in some replies.

Love,
Margherita

This is excellent!  I love how the words piggy back on each other - and the poem is sad but talks of life in a way that I want to read more.  I am such a fan of your poetry and I thank God that you were born.

Another bullet finds it's mark!
You certainly draw a bead on the truth.
Keep them poems a coming we get restless out here for sad poems of tragic lives.

Melancholy, maybe, but still mighty fine writing.

Longfellow wrote in his poem "The Psalm of Life"  "Let the dead past bury it's dead! Act,__act in the living present! Heart within, and God o'erhead!  Get a Dog.  Remember, Dog spelled backwards spells GOD.  Get both and you've got it made.
