                 moving on

When night befalls this barren,
   vexing Winter world
which has taken everything,
and the heart is but an empty vessel
brim-full of shadows and starlight,
take comfort in transcendent dreams
of timeless love and Spring's renewal,
ever-rippling on the evening breeze…
for hope and life move on.
