Sonya played her trumpet
With a gust of breath
And tune from her head
Resonating through the house
And to the neighbors black den

Sonya cleared her throat every night
Before she started to play
Before the song from the trumpets gold horn
Would resonate through the neighboring streets

Through the backyard of her own head
To the long private path
Where two souls listened
As the moon rose,
Chastising the wind as it blew too close

Along the sparrows of midnight;
She played her trumpet until the night slept
And the children were silent
With their heads against the white willow pillows
Of a sleepless night
To Sonyaƕs gold trumpet.

I am stunned that there is no reply to this!  How can this be?

I want to force myself to lie awake, so that I can hear Sonya's trumpet honouring the night.
