                 Dreams of Spring

Across deep valleys, meres, and mountaintops
bathed in limpid moonlit shadows
a brisk night wind still stirs these Winter forests;
Yet tentative hints and dreams of Spring
awaken with cascading emotions rising
to sweep the mind and memory clear
   and beckon all
to lower the drawbridge of the heart.

                  --- b. e. adams (2/17/2010)

[this has truly been the "Winter of my discontent"
... far too many irrevocable 'losses'!]

It sweeps across my mountains also but I am hopeful that Spring will come in like a lamb and quickly!

Enjoyed ...

Yo Bruce,

This is very good.

It's always good to lower the drawbridge to the heart.

Spring will manifest and soften the pain.

Most beautiful, dear Bruce.

This hasn't been my best winter either, Bruce. I hope spring will renew us. Lovely poem.

Bruce,

Even as you write of losses and times of struggle, you share such beauty with us.  Thank you, my friend.

"Lower the drawbridge of the heart", what a remarkable expression, flooded with meaning!

And we each shall endure our winter of discontent . . . Wishing you the best, Bruce.
