Hungry Bones
walks through
Chinatown.

He looks with longing eyes
into a restaurant window.

There’s a beautiful
Peking duck
hanging in the window.

It looks so good,
and he’d like to
have a bite.

Bones feels a close
fellowship
with the lovely
brown,
roasted,
Peking duck.

It would taste so good.

Oh, the longing eyes.

Bones knows about
those longing eyes.

He's seen them
watching him.

Bobby

Yo Bones,

I liked this one even if other people hate you and your stories.  Keep up the good writing.

and even then I might opt for leaves and berries

Thanks dear Passing shadows,

Bones is always hungry enough to eat a duck, or most anything else.  He's not picky.

Peking Duck is excellent.

You have taken a banal experience and twisted it with a clever denouement.

Hey Bobby -- this is a very intriguing write, and I can relate to Bones' longing, as he seems to live vicariously through the Peking duck, and those eyes that he knows all to well.

I enjoyed this very much.  --

Different longings in different eyes ...  everybody's needs are expressed.

You rendered this moment powerfully, dear Bobby.

Love,
Margherita

Thanks Yann,

Yes, Oliver Twist is a good description of Bones back in his hungry days.

Thanks dear Margherita,

Yes, needs are expressed by hungry Bones, while wants, not needs are expressed by the other eyes.
