~Clocks~

There’s a subtle ticking noise
At the midpoints of our hearts
A melancholy rhythm
From the day that our life starts

Hinting Death is drawing closer
Hear its tantalizing calls
From Connemara’s rock-cliffs
To the wealthy nobles’ halls

Oh that no one can escape the clocks
Each click each tick
Each tick
      Click
        Tick
We live yet we are frozen-
Cement in time’s almighty bricks

For in life we are just jesters
For the pleasures of our King!
When no longer entertaining
Sent to the Skull! Death bells ring!

Yes all who tick must waste and pine
      Waste
Pine
      Pine
      Instead
G-d can stop the tocks of men
And then we all fall dead!
No.

Beware Apathia’s Doldrums!

Yes, there’s summer, autumn winter spring
But summer once again!
There is still beauty to behold
From each stream to each green glen!

Who says the clicks, the ticks, these glorious heart-tricks
Must hark the end is near?
Why fear the fading
     Fading
       Fading?
We must learn to persevere!

Let’s cherish each life-breath
For each tick could be our last!
Rejoice in new, unscripted days
Forget our solemn past!

Lets trust in G-d’s good reason
Accept we know not all
And in this fantastic revelation
Answer life renewed, nature’s joyous call

Loved this sequence:
Oh that no one can escape the clocks
Each click each tick
Each tick
      Click
        Tick
We live yet we are frozen-
Cement in time’s almighty bricks

How very true this poem is, and we can't afford to waste one minute of time on negative things either.
