“A Numbers Game”
by: Dan Hitner

It’s a numbers game
But they never seem right
And when it should make sense
It’s like there’s not enough light

You think you know it all
And have it under control
But another day slips by
And this game is getting old

It’s time to step back and slowdown
But you can’t rewind
Plan for tomorrow
And leave the past behind

But don’t forget you mistakes
You’ll need the lessons learned
As more moons disappear
Respect must be earned

Not only respect for others
You must respect yourself as well
If they are happy it’s great
But if you’re not its hell

Once you figure out “you”
Then you can move on
To find that special someone
To miss you when you’re gone

They’ll miss you for a second
Or miss you for a year
But they’ll never miss a moment
To wipe away a tear

Some days you’ll fight
But making up is the best
And when she doesn’t give up
You’ll know she’s better than the rest

If you found your other half
And now it all seems right
This numbers game is over
And you’ve already won the fight.

Impressive thought, there. Welcome to piptalk, I liked this a lot.

Fall in love early, fall in love often.
