Bits and Pieces

Like leaves
having exhausted their time,
having released their hold
on what was tying them down,
Love falls from me in bits and pieces
narrowing my soul here, pinching it there,
leaving it achingly empty in places.
My only regret in knowing her at all
is now I'll never be able to close my arms around her
. . . in other than words.
My heart beats slowly,
my breath comes shallow,
and I touch the place on my chest
where the ache is more
than the loss of a friend.

Walk easy, Kacy,
and hard as it may sometimes be,
look down once in a while
and see me looking up at you...

My heart -

jimmy

Such a beautiful, poignant poem in memory of dear Kacy!

You expressed the sorrow so intensely, dear Jimmy.

secondhanddreampoet.

What can I say...it was your kind notification in PIP by which I was informed  of Kacy's new wings. By not being able to spend time here anymore I'm a little slow on picking up such things, especially about those for whom I care.

Thanks for spreading the word, and for being whom you are.

Passing Shadows...

My friend, roses are tiny angels with rainbow-hued wings, and you have been a rose to me since first we said 'hello'.

Rememberance is nothing more than present perception - a sunrise later, so worry not about the thoughts of others when your wings mature to white - I have no doubt they're going to glow, and glow.

Jimmy,

It has taken time for me to come and read the "Kacy" poems.  This, my friend, is what is in my heart.  Kacy was a link for me - she knew Alaska and knew so much of where I live.  She saw my poetry as few can - and now I see Kacy everywhere.  She is in the aurora, and among the stars, and on the lacy hoarfrost on the tree branches.  She is in the silence of the cold and in the promise of spring.

I miss her.

Love,
Alison
