Ice Blue Stare

In the ice blue stare of a winter moon
Persistent footsteps of nocturnal wanderers
Make impressions on the crust of snow
Winds whisper a midnight story, foraging for signs
Slipping a hand into shadow, lifting into light her secrets
Tempting the waxed glide of foot fall and ski
Made for quiet times of soul searching and cold rendezvous
Sentinel limbs quiver in the wind, moan with dismay
Haunting as their call levitates the still horizon
Enchanted are the stars, merely witness to glory
Reflections on frosted ground, waiting…watching
In the ice blue stare of a winter moon
Breath makes a vapor cloud that captures moments
Annunciating the pulse of change in images true to themselves

that is wonderfully written. your imagery is amazing.

I am that I am,
And that makes it me.
I float like a rock
But I sting like a bee.

Gorgeous!  We didn't even get winter yet so I sure enjoyed seeing my breath in the air in your wonderful poem.

wonderful opening lines!:

“In the ice blue stare of a winter moon
   Persistent footsteps of nocturnal wanderers”

another line most fine!:

“Slipping a hand into shadow, lifting into light her secrets”

and I REALLY love:

“Enchanted are the stars, merely witness to glory
   Reflections on frosted ground, waiting…watching
In the ice blue stare of a winter moon”

imagery most fine!!
