Infix Notation and the Order of Operation
With infix notation, one easy mnemonic for remembering the order of operation is:
Please excuse my dear Aunt Sally.
The first letter (in boldtype) of each word in the above mnemonic stands for the following:
p = parentheses
e = exponents
m = multiplication
d = division
a = addition
s = subtraction
In a mathematical expression, the order of operation is carried out from left to right. Start with the left most value and seek the first operation to be carried out in accordance with the order specified above (i.e., start with parentheses and end with subtraction)

((A+F)*E)/T
.........................................

Alice added the elements in her surround an influence to the mirror part
And the sum grew to equal the exponent of herself
Thus giving weight to the elements more than her reflected self

Nested in the ellipse of marks she found on stark white page
There was the sign for smile and the multiplication of laughter
Those she worked in singular fashion so as to find the sum of operands
That had come from years of collecting memories and hopes
So dreams lie about the paper graphed a poetic song
On X axis was time
         On Y the energy consumed by periods and commas pause

Divide the sum and it less the whole
That no rabbit king or hearted queen could console with tea
Or a Cheshire grin hide from soul

The mirror bore an ebon frame that held fine silvered glass
She found the way to journey through when filled with the sum of her soul
She fell into the mass of holes that led unto the grass where tales were told
And escaped the heart might last a passing flash of hare’s fine hat

Rational the wed
These things she had beheld and those that she knew
Weighed more upon the whole than belief of fairy tales or sipping China Tea
Expression set not yet equation to be solved
No equal sign or less or more

Just factors of the whole

Please Excuse My Dear Alice’s Sigh
Mnemonics to remember by the Summer’s wind and nights
Spent caught within the dreams

Still a fraction holds
            It’s always less than 1

Way cool where you went with this one! I had my doubts when you started all mathmatical on me.  Should have known you'd pull off the magical! ebm

Well, I have no doubts about the fact that math and magic do indeed walk together very harmoniously.

Enjoyed this one very much!

Love,

Your poetic product is greater than the sum of the whole, for there are exponential qualities here that cannot be contained. Infinite should be the applause for the one who can mix the universal language with such non- Euclidian poetics.

If this is a scribble, then sign me up for your next art class. I have a feeling that crayons in your hands would produce a fine mosaic.
